First Grade News #10
Hello from First Grade! Here’s what we are learning:
Math- We are learning about dimes, and that when we count dimes, we count by 10’s. We have also begun counting by 2’s- both backwards and forwards!
Spelling- The words are getting harder! Thank you for helping your child study.
AR points are climbing! Keep up the good work!
Keep sending in those box tops! Last count was 267!
The canned food drive continues until Dec. 11th. Please send in non-perishable food if you are able.
Believe it or not, Christmas is approaching! We are going to do a Secret Santa exchange again this year in the classroom. Teachers decided a $3-$5 gift would be appropriate. I think it would be easiest if boys purchased “boy gifts” and girls purchased “girl gifts.” Of course, with some gifts, gender may not matter. Please send them in wrapped anytime before Dec. 18th.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Thank you for your help and support,
Ms. DeWitt
