Congratulations to Bradley, our Student of
the Week

We have another new preschooler who had a birthday before starting last Wednesday. Hope you had a Happy Birthday Gavin.
DATES TO REMEMBER:
February 11, Thursday, is our Valentine Party at 2:00. Those on the committee are:
Katie Davis and Sharon Tracey co-chair
Amanda Sanderson, Carla Gilifillan, Crystal Collins-Barton
February 12, Friday, is an EARLY DISMISSAL @ 11:30.
February 15, Monday, is Presidents Day. NO SCHOOL

Please, return your child’s library book this Wednesday so your child may check out another one.
When you get the book “Shhh Don’t Wake the Children,” please send it back ASAP. We need to send it on to the rest of the class.
We will be sending home a special valentine for you from your little one. Please check your child’s backpack to see what he/she has made for you. Presidents Day is Monday, February 15. We will be talking about Lincoln and Washington. The children will discover that Lincoln’s face is on the penny and Washington’s face is on the quarter. We will use some of the change we have already received to sort and for making a pattern.
As you know we are collecting for the piggy bank. If you have loose change and want to send it in with your child, it is appreciated.

The children will need their valentines for their classmates by February 10th so they can deliver them. Please do not wait until the day of the party to send them.
We will be asking for those who are on the snack calendar to send in specific items. If this creates a problem, please let me know ASAP, so I can make some other arrangements. We will be making special snacks this month and the next couple of months.
We will be getting another new student next week. Her name is Leigha. Please make her welcome. We will now have 15 children in our room, so when planning for snack plan on sending in 15 items.
I am now on the schools webpage. If you want to view the newsletter online go to avonschools.us My name is listed under elementary staff. The newsletter should be online each week for you to read.
