Kindernews #8: Positive Behavior Incentive, Conferences, Trojan
Dollars,
and Dates to Remember
1. A Positive Behavior Incentive Activity was hosted by the Avon
Elementary
Staff and the PTA on Friday, October 23, 2009. Students who had
consistently made good choices over the weeks of the first quarter
were
rewarded with a movie and popcorn for the afternoon. These
children
were also given a golden award to provide a tangible “thank you”
for a
job well done.
2. Conferences for the Kindergarten are Nearly Complete. If you
were
unable to attend the conference you had scheduled for your child,
please
send a note to let me know, when you will be available to come
discuss your child’s progress. I am available on Mondays,
Wednesdays, and “A” Fridays from 9:10 to 9:30 a.m.. Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and “B” Fridays I have a break from 9:45 to 10:05 a.m. I
would be available to talk with you every day from 2:10 to 2:30
p.m.
3. Trojan Dollars may be the topic of discussion your child wants
to share with
you. They are also called “T-Bucks.” School personnel and PTA are
further supporting good choices made by the students of our
elementary building by giving a T-Buck to children seen making
those good choices. At the end of the month, there will be a store
where T-Bucks can be spent. The more T-Bucks earned . . . the more
items a student is able to purchase.
4. Special Days in November:
Wednesday, November 11th No School
Wednesday, November 18th Picture Retakes
Wednesday, November 25th Early Out – 11:30 a.m.
Thursday, November 26th No School
Friday, November 27th No School
